Simrat Khalsa grew up in what had been the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, NY. The area was still filled with artists of various kinds, and her father was a painter and commercial artist. Simrat studied art throughout her childhood and into college at both Simon’s Rock Early College and the University of Oregon. Through the years, Simrat has created work in diverse media: photography, artist books, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, drawing, and painting; which is her current focus. She works out of her studio in Pleasant Hill, OR.
